Yes, a $200 holding deposit is required upfront to secure the booking. Before a deposit is paid we will hold your booking for 5 days from date of invoice. However, if your holding deposit payment is unable to be made by the due date we cannot hold or guarantee your booking. The holding deposit confirms that we will make no other booking at the time of your event and will be deducted from your final payment, which is due one week before your event.
We will contact you one month prior to your booking to finalise your song lists and also send you through your final invoice. Your final payment is due one week prior to your event.
We will provide you with an invoice. We accept direct deposit and credit card (3% surcharge) on request.
When you make your booking we send you a form that you are to complete - providing us with all the details for your booking. On this form you can select the styles of music you would like to have. For a wedding ceremony you can let us know what you would like for the key parts of the ceremony (processional, signing of the register and recessional). If you need any help choosing the music please do not hesitate to ask.
Yes, we are happy to accommodate. For requested songs, an additional arrangement/sourcing fee will be incurred, and payment is required upfront before any work is undertaken. Reach out for a quote.
Formal attire.
All except a wedding ceremony booking, We will need to take some breaks during the booking time. We usually allow about 5 minute every 45 minutes (after the first 1.5 hours). We try to time these in accordance with your event's formal proceedings (speeches, announcements etc). However, we are happy to play easy listening tracks during this time if required so not to kill the mood.
On the rare occasion that a client cancels the booking, we will retain all the money paid to date. All deposits made are nonrefundable (as we have been holding the date and possibly turning other bookings away). By paying the deposit you agree to these terms. Although it is nonrefundable, it is fully transferable but dependent on availability.
Yes – and No. During the busiest seasons, Signature Strings may be playing at several engagements on one day and the change of time may not suit with any additional engagements which cannot be changed. However, if this isn’t the case, the Signature Strings is more than happy to work with you on your time change.
Generally, no. This is an additional expense to you that really is not necessary. We are happy to discuss anything on the phone and/or provide a backing track you can rehearse to at your rehearsal if required. On the day we will arrive 10-15 minutes early to coordinate cues with your wedding planner, the groom or any other person who is in charge of your event.
Yes, we are more than happy to play outdoors on fine days. Should the weather be too windy or wet, the violnist would have to move inside and have the right to do so. We ask that there is some shade to play under to protect both person and instrument from the suns harmful rays.
On the rare occasion of our violinist being unwell, we would make sure that we find a suitable replacement at no expense or stress to you. We have a number of proficient players who can stand in when needed and are acquainted with our high standards.
In the unlikely event that we are unable to attend your event at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances on the day, e.g. accident, act of God or alike, your fee will be refunded in full.
We quote from the time we start playing to the time we finish/leave. Therefore, if you require a musician to play at two different venues, or there is a break between the ceremony and reception (at the same venue) – the time spent waiting or traveling is quoted as if we were playing. We quote on time non actual playing time.
Saturday and Sundays only.
We ask that you be considerate of the times when you are booking by the hour. If your booking runs over for any reason, we reserve the right to pack up if we are unable to stay due to other commitments.
If we need to go to a different location due to wet weather, we require 2+ hours' notice so we aren't traveling to more than one location. If we are told later than this time, there is a chance we may run late or may not be able to attend. There are no refunds if we aren't able to play due to wet weather.
